Of days gone by

I have a fascination with old photography. I don't know what it is about it, but it simply captivates me. I love those greeting cards that they are making now with old black and white images from the 60s. But even better, is looking through the same photos of my very own family...my mom and dad, grandparents, etc. Perhaps it is the simplicity of it all that intrigues me. Or maybe it is fun to see my heritage and what my parents looked like as children. I look at photos of my mother-in-law as a child and I can see my son in her eyes. It's amazing.

Recently, we lost a very special person to cancer. We loved him very much. His life was an inspiration to us all. I'm still in awe of everything that he did in his lifetime. He was an entrepreneur, an adventurer, and a successful business-man. He lived life to the fullest. But most of all, he was one of the most caring and generous men I have ever met. He had this purity to him and was genuinely interested in the lives of others around him.

I had the honor to look through some of the photos from his life. Some of the imagery is so sweet. I thought I would share it with you.
