Tiny Tantrums

Well, the day has come. My sweet little boy is starting to show his anger in the form of a tantrum. On the floor, kicking and screaming, crying tantrums. So, I was asking my girlfriend today what I should do. This is new territory for me, after all. We discussed how to handle the situation with a little one that doesn't know how to communicate yet. Time-outs? Ignore it? Try to talk calmly?

My solution yesterday was to leave and go to the next room. After realizing that I wasn't there to witness his behavior, he picked himself up, followed me into the next room and layed right back down and continued on his rant. It was just like, "No, mom, you need to sit and watch me freak out." This little process lasted from the kitchen to the living room to the bedroom until he finally realized it was too much work to keep up!

As a mom, you always second guess if you are doing the right thing or handling the situation in the best manner. But today I just happened to get an email with this great information from other moms going through the same thing!

Check it out at parent center

If there are other moms (or dads) out there with advice, I'd welcome your comments!!
