New camera

Ok, I want a new camera and I am going to save my pennies to make it happen. I must purchase a new camera. The only problem is that I'm not sure which direction to go. Obviously I can't go top of the line, but for a great mid-line, should I go with Nikon or Canon?

Someone with more knowledge about this, please enlighten me!??!

Canon Digital Rebel or Nikon D60 or something totally different???

HELP?!?!?!

I have a cannon and if you want to try it out for a while you can. I love it!

I don't know if you have any lenses from an old camera or not. The downfall of the Nikon D60 is that you can't use the older AF lenses in the auto focus mode. They work fine in manual mode. I had older Nikon lenses, but decided to go with a Canon EOS Rebel X this spring.
I really like this camera and I was able to purchase it with a 18-55mm and a 70-300mm for cheaper than I could get a Nikon D40x or Nikon D60. A great website to compare cameras side by side is www.dpreview.com
