NotStock was an awesome event!!

3 days of printmaking, music and discussions of graphic design...can it get any better then that? Kudos to the team at MSU for bringing such an amazing event to Minot!!! I don't get the chance to hang out with fellow creatives very often, so I was in all my glory taking it all in.

What surprised me the most: WOW, do we have an enormous amount of talented young musicians in Minot. Most notably such performers such as Jazmine Wolfe, Joshua Gagne and Diabolic Octopus. I was so impressed with their talent. Especially since I have ZERO music ability. It makes you appreciate what they can do even more. I highly recommend checking out their MySpace pages and if they have music available to purchase, do it! What a great way to support our local talent. I'm just sorry that I couldn't hear all the performers over the past three days.

And of course I have to mention the artists that spent three days in our fine city. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedules to be here. They were so generous with their time and knowledge and provided a once in a lifetime opportunity for students to soak in their creativity.

It was also great to hear their presentation yesterday as they touched on so many things that can be so frustrating in this profession. It is nice to know that I am not alone!!! It is good to know that even they have clients that nit-pick and rip stuff apart. And it was also fun to hear their solutions to the dreaded DESIGN BY COMMITTEE. AUGH!!! What perfect timing after the last few projects I've had....
