A new day in stem cell research

I'm currently listening to the segment on the Ed Schultz's Show on stem cell research. Is this the first of many new changes under the new administration? According to some stories online, Obama's adminstration had "nothing to do with the U.S. Food and Drug Adminstration's granting permission for the new study". Regardless, progress is happening, as human stem cell research is moving forward.

This new research, from what I understand, is geared toward paraplegics. But what this means for many others could be a new sign of hope, specifically for those with juvenile diabetes. My friend has two daughters that suffer from juvenile diabetes and I've personally seen the effects of this terrible disease. I believe that the go-ahead with ss research will make them very excited today. So, whether it was because of the change in adminstration or not, it's a new day in America...and it's exciting!

Read an article on this development here.
