Mila's Daydreams

This is by far the cutest, most creative thing I have seen in awhile. It makes my heart just melt. This amazing mom takes the time to build these whimsical scenes while she sleeps, imagining what she may be dreaming of. SO ADORABLE!

Thanks to DesignMom for the tidbit.

Bella Rose Design

Another talented (somewhat) local. Thanks to RB for the great find! She's got some cute jewelry and is currently having an awesome sale. Although, I think I like her even more because of her name. ;-)

A Simple Solution

I must share my recent outdoor decorating solution. Let me preface the story...I am a clone of my grandmother. In more ways than one. One thing we both love to do is re-decorate or re-furbish, or as my relatives like to say, "slap a coat of paint on just about anything". We are both constantly changing our decor and getting sick of the current color schemes we have throughout our houses. My grandma is worse than me. Probably because she has more time to do such things. Anyway, so as my cousin is removing her old shutters from her house, naturally my grandma said she would take them and do something with them. (that's our famous phrase...we always think we'll do something with it) So, grandma paints them and keeps them for awhile. I have no idea what she did with them. Well, it came time for grandma to move, so we were clearing out things and before my relatives threw away the shutters, they put them aside because they were sure Candy would do something with them.

I'm proud to say that I did find a cute little use for them. They have now become my clever little way to cover up the ugly gas meter on the side of my house! Wha La!

Inspired by Knack

I was so inspired by Knack Studios and how they re-style furniture that I did a little project of my own this weekend. It's not much, but it will look lovely in my little girl's room. This was actually my great-grandmother's pedestal, so it is a piece with meaning. Finding time to do these things is always a problem, so in between playtime, naps, tantrums and toys I managed to pull it off this weekend. I hope to find an extra hour or two on the clock to do more of these projects. Wish me luck!

Golf Tournament for Kids

It's only 1 month away! The first ever Minot Optimist Youth Golf Classic will be held Sunday, August 1st at the Jack Hoeven Wee Links Golf Course. I'm really excited to be a part of this event. We are very fortunate to have an actual kids golf course in Minot so we're taking advantage and hoping for some great weather!

If your kids are interested in participating, they can download a registration form on our website, or pick one up at Wee Links. Thanks to some generous local sponsors, we have a great lineup of prizes (flat screen tvs, wii, android tablets, etc.) and food and drinks.
