Glass Totems for your Garden

Upcycling. Garden Junk. Whatever you want to call it, the trend continues and I was pleasantly surprised to come across this little find in my own mother's yard the other night while visiting her home. While glass totems are nothing new, the fact that my mom actually made it came as a big surprise to me! (if you know my mom, you know she will never claim to be crafty) I think the fact that each piece has a history tied to it is even more intriguing. I love the detail of old glassware. Notice the little bird on the piece in the middle. This totem boasts glassware from both of my grandmothers, along with a piece from my great-grandmother.

If you want to make your own, perhaps you should take a stroll east of town. My mom had originally brought the pieces out to the Cozy Cottage in Granville to donate, but ended up staying and making a garden totem out of them. So glad she did, because you know who is going to claim it next!

Google "glass garden totem" for more great images and ideas. You can visit Cozy Cottage at http://cozycottage.weebly.com/index.html

I love this! What a cool idea! I have a bird feeder made out of a mason jar and an old decorative plate/bowl. So cool to repurpose and make pretty! :O) Might have to steal this idea!

OH, and if you had more of the flat ones, wouldn't that make the coolest cupcake stand ever! :O) just a thought... Rhonda
