A Pop of Color on the Patio

The other night while looking at my patio furniture, I decided it was too bland and needed a pop of color. One trip to the thrift store and a can of green paint later, this is what I came up with. I added colorful paper to the bottom portion, but I'm not as happy with it so I think I will just go back to sleek solid brown. I absolutely loved the clean lines of this piece when I saw it. It reminded me of something I would find at CB2. I guess I'll just call it a CB1 creation! (Candace Brekke)

Next step; to find colorful cushions for the chairs or perhaps a colorful rug.

Upcycle Project

I found this little treasure at a local thrift store and loved the detail on the side and knew I had to do something with it. I had intended on using it outside somewhere, but it turned out so cute I may use it as a small project table for the kids.

The original was brown. I spray painted it orange, but let it bleed so the brown texture would still show through. I also didn't want it to be 'perfect' because of the character of the nicks and chips it had. Then I simply added wrapping paper to the top to complete the look.

Turned into a cute little piece of eyecandy, don't you think?

Web designer, "I'm just thinking that this is a vital piece that is missing. Are you positive they didn't want it?"
Account staff, "Yes."
