Simple Wall Decor for Modern Spaces

Here is another piece from the interiors of Ackerman-Estvold Engineering. By taking floor or hall mirrors and turning them horizontally, you can really make a statement. In order to fill this space, we stacked three of the stainless framed hall mirrors from Target. I think it worked really well in the space and added a little element of surprise.

The one thing I always try to do is think about products and how they can be used differently from their original intent. Get creative with things. Turn them sideways, upside down, paint them...the sky is the limit! In this case, the lines and materials were cohesive with the rest of the space, but we just needed to use them differently. Also, don't forget about scale. If we simply would have put one mirror on it's side, it definitely wouldn't have had the impact of three, filling the space both vertically and horizontally.
